It is traditionally said that tomato plants should go in by Melbourne Cup Day.
I got most of mine in 10 days ago, of various different varieties.
Now my challenge is to keep them alive over the summer.

I kept a grosse lisse alive through winter and have a heap of wild cherry tomatoes going and already picking the ripe ones from both types. It’s a nice change from previous years. I hope you have a good season with yours as they taste great when homegrown.

Thanks for your good wishes. My mother is usually able to keep some cherry tomatoes going over the winter in pots.
