I was wrong, and not in a good way. Last week I estimated that at the then current rate of increase of covid cases, Australia was going to reach 1 million cases by Tuesday.
Well, it’s Monday and we are already at a million.
Happily, there is no need for any further lockdowns. Everyone is now so used to this mess that they are just staying home anyway to try and avoid catching it. When at Highpoint West this morning, the shopping centre was practically deserted, as was my bus.
You do know a lockdown is viagra for a politician. It gets their power level near the size of their inflated egos. You might be right though as vaccination segregation is shaping up to be the new sexy thing to play with in 2022.

You raise a good point. Chairman Dan is on holidays at the moment. When he’s back he might call another lockdown

Deserted? Check out the ICUs at any hospital and you will find where everyone is! I have a friend whose navel is protruding out of his abdomin. He’s been sent home and told his surgery has to wait till the Covid numbers decrease. Shortages at supermarkets are worse than the panic buying that occurred during the first lockdowns. 60% of hospital staff are off work, exhausted from the relentless arrivals of ever more mostly unvaccinated folk who did their own research. And this is what people were protesting for before we even had a vaccine!
